Default How 3D Glasses Work

I got this diagram from Howstuffworks "Science"

I hope this answers questions on how the glasses work.

The red and blue lenses filter the two projected images allowing only one image to enter each eye.

This is cool, Trinoma. I followed your site and also saw an explanation on how polarized 3D glasses work. For the others who didn't get the chance to read it, here's the diagram:

Oh, polarized glasses, by the way, are the ones used at Disney World, Universal Studios and certain other 3-D venues. This is because polarized lenses allow color viewing. Two synchronized projectors project two respective views onto the screen, each with a different polarization. The glasses allow only one of the images into each eye because they contain lenses with different polarization.

Thanks for sharing these diagrams. I have always wondered how they work, and these illustrations make the process easy to understand.

so these are the competing technologies that they are talking about when they talk about 3D standards. I think that it is going to be those blue and red that would become the standard.

I share your opinion on this one. I think that it is more prevalent now.

Not only that, it's easier to produce 3D this way too.
