Stephen Shiu Jr, the chairman of One Dollar Production is reportedly shelling out $4 million to produce a remake of a porn film, Sex and Zen.

Shiu says that watchers will be feeling like they are watching it from the edge of the bed, and the movie would have a lot of closeups.

LOL! I like the metaphor, but I don't think I'd be able to appreciate watching porn THAT close.

I think porn would be one of the industries that would benefit tremendously from 3D. The Internet has really eaten up its customer base and porn online has been taking away those who would rent the videos or watch the movies. It's more private to watch porn online. with 3D porn, they would have to buy the DVD

Porn has been one of the driving force behind DVDs and internet video. I think it will work its magic on 3D too.

Not only that, the porn industry has slowed in coming up with new movies, so even with Internet porn, they can go get their old catalogue and convert it to 3D.

Hmmmn... I think that advantage would apply not just to porn but the whole industry.

“Just imagine that you’ll be watching it as if you were sitting beside the bed,” Stephen Shiu Jr. told the Sunday Morning Post. “There will be many close-ups. It will look as if the actresses are only a few centimeters from the audience.”
This is great news for those who are into BBW (look it up if you have to, ’cause I ain’t linkin’).
Twenty five to 30 per cent of the movie … will be sex scenes, Shiu told the newspaper. A Hong Kong-based special effects company that has worked on major blockbusters including The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D will help produce the 3D images for the sex movie. The producers hope the movie will cash in on the craze for 3D films in Hong Kong where 55 per cent of takings for last year’s hit film Journey to the Centre of the Earth came from the 3D version.

“We’re having trouble finding a male lead who is willing to undress in front of the camera,” he told the Post, “It’s a lot more difficult to find an actor than an actress for this kind of film”.

I really have this beef about people who say that this and that movie is the first ever 3D porn in the world. that's not true! 3D porn has been with us ever since porn came into the picture.

I haven't really been a fan of porn movies (not that i am condeming those who do. maybe i am just abnormal, LoL)... but a porn movie on 3D? i might check it out to see how it really looks like. i know it's something that would really hit among porn lovers. i can just imagine watching it and feeling like i'm really there, as if i were invited as a third-party, without getting involved.

I hope they do 3D movies with love scenes that are passionate, too. like the love scene between Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas in "Original Sin." have you seen it? call me mushy or sappy, but it's one of my most favorite love scenes ever... and oh, the one between Brad Pitt and Claire Forlani in Meet Joe Black too!
