Default JVC launches GD-463D10 Full HD 3D TV

It seems like JVC has come out with a full 1080p HD 3DTV. JVC showed off a 46" prototype of its new 3DTV at the CEDIA exhibit. Calling it the GD-463D10, JVC says that it uses polarized light to create the 3D effects.

Well, each line of pixel emits a different color in a different direction. This will create stereographic images which you will have to decode by wearing 3D glasses. Your left lens will view one set of pixels while the right one views the other half. When your brain combines these, you get an illusion that you're seeing 3D images.

So that's not really full HD right? I mean if only half of the 1080 pixels are forming the same picture, that would not qualify as full HD.

Technically, you're right. But if you see the TV's resolution, it's actually very good.

I heard that this has a contrast ratio of 2000:1. It also has a wider viewing angle, making it better than most HDTVs out in the market now.

Well, JVC also said that they were only manufacturing 2000 units, so on top of it being a top of the line TV, it's also out on limited supply. I'd expect this to cost around £8,000 or more.

Hehehe, that's quite expensive. But still, JVC will not be manufacturing it until the standards for Bluray are ironed out. So you still have a lot of time to save.

That's a sleek looking TV. Am surprised that 3D TVs are not really different in looks from HD tvs.
