I would hold off on buying an HDTV now. For that matter, I'm also waiting to have that 3D Bluray available before buying a bluray too.

I think if you buy an HDTV now, you're looking at an obsolete TV in the next few months. So just wait for the 3DTV to make your purchase, that way you won't be wasting money.

If you really need it, buy the HDTV. 3D TV is not going to be out anytime soon, at least not a standardized one.

I think I'd be ok with HDTVs now, I don't really watch anything on 3D.

I've always believed that you should not scrimp on technology. You may think that you don't need 3D now, but in the future you might be attracted to it. Either that or more and more programmes will be available on 3D.

For my part, I am still using an old CRT for my room. But if ever I'd decide to replace it, then I'd go for a 3D TV rather than an HDTV. I think 3D will be the final and ultimate technology in TV, I really don't think that they'd be making holographic TVs soon.

I would say that 3D TVs are just around the corner. But yes, standards for 3D at home is not yet defined at the moment.

I think 3D is great for movies, but I really don't see it taking off in TV. SO I'd go for the cheaper HDTV.

Actually, I would go for a Plasma 3D TV. This is because plasma is the only technology that has a fast enough refresh rate to handle 3D rendering. If I am correct, plasma 3D TVs can have drivers that can show two 1080p frames at the same time. One will handle what your left eye sees and the other your right.
